review 1: I recommend this book to anyone raising kids these days! Also important for educators. I actually didn't have time to finish it and have to return it to the library because there's a hold, so I am going to BUY a copy -- it's that important. The author takes a developmental approach to how kids are exposed to technology. I had to stop in the teenage section. There were absolutely SHOCKING interactions between kids. I'm so glad my kids are already grown up. I know they faced some of this, but you parents of young'uns! OMG! Get this book so you are better prepared.
review 2: This is a very informative book about the impact of technology on children and teens. It discusses various age categories and how technology can be helpful and harmful to the developing brain
... more. The book also addresses how technology, in many ways, is replacing the ability for children and teens to develop real, face-to-face relationships. Additionally, it provides the reader with the reminder that anything posted online is not private and the repercussions of anything posted can be long lasting (especially if it's of a negative nature). The author encourages parents and caregivers to be involved in a childrens/teens use of technology and to monitor how much they use technology and for what purposes. less

A necessary read when technology is a large portion of your life and that of your children.
