review 1: As with all of Cathy Lamb's books, I find it difficult to form a proper review. Her characters, while eccentric, are so REAL, that I find myself wishing I could find friends as true and unflagging in their support as her main characters have. This book, although I had pretty much figured out the ending, or so I thought, was thought provoking in teaching me how I should deal with troubled students, and touching in the way I experienced the difficulties of foster children. As a teacher, I have to realize the influence and care that these children need, and I humbly hope that I can be the person my kids count on...
review 2: This is the third book by Cathy Lamb that I have liked. The main character, Grenadine, was found wandering along a highway when she was six y... moreears old. When no one claimed her, she was put into foster care. Throughout her life, she would remember things about her parents; but it wasn't until she was older that those memories would make sense to her. This novel provided good escape and kept my attention. I did, however, think parts of the plot and many of the characters weren't well developed. This is still a better than average book though. less
