I am not sure if it has been too stressful of a week or medication affects but I have not found an enjoyable, reviewable book to share.
So here are stories I started but could not get in to and why.
Vanquish: Book 2 of the King Series
The first few chapters were action packed and fast paced. However, there were 3 female characters cat fighting over King. I gave up fairly early.
Cinder Road: Book 2 of the Scorch Series
This is Dolph (alive twin) and Avital’s book. In the beginning they have grief sex and the emotional upheaval was massive. Again, I gave up early in the story.
Mortal Heir by Emma L Adams
Had an interesting plot of a half fae taking charge of a Faerie holding. The action seemed to drag and more time was spent looking at the heroine’s lack of knowledge and failures. I was 65% into the story before moving on.
Tempest by Anna Hackett.
I enjoyed Hackett’s Hell Squad and Galactic Gladiator Series. This book has an interesting premise of Roman mythology but I felt the character development was lacking or too much happening in a few days to enjoy the characters/relationship. I will probably read book two, a brother’s story, before I decide on the series.
Alright, four books in two days and probably another one tonight. I hope to get out of this slump. If I am wrong, please let me know!
