review 1: Spirit Dances is book six in Murphy's Walker Papers series and I have to say this series continues to be rock solid entertainment. Watching Joanne's journey from reluctant shaman to a force to be reckoned with has been great. In this instalment we see Jo as we have hardly seen her before - actually confident in her abilities. That's not to say that things don't go sideways for her more times than one, but she steps up with less of the usual self doubt than in the past. She has really grown into her abilities, as a shaman, and as a cop. As usual, Spirit Dances hits the ground running and never lets up until the end. I don't want to give any spoilers, but lets just say that something that has been brewing for a while finally happens, and I don't think anyone will be di... morespleased with the result. The story also sets up more to come, so you will be chomping at the bit for book seven.
review 2: I'm throwing myself through this series as fast as I can gobble them down. I love C.E. Murphy's voice and her heroine, Joanne. How else would a down-to-earth, emotionally repressed, speaks-her-mind gal act when she is shoved into the role of a reluctant shaman in a world filled with magic? I'm still trying to wrap my mind around the pronunciation of her Irish name, Siobhan, but it doesn't keep me from tearing through the pages. C.E. Murphy does a good job of bringing you up to date if you pick this up in the middle of the series, but I invite you, no, urge you to read the whole series. Start here if you want, but don't miss out on all Joanne's unwilling metamorphosis. And one semi-spoiler - this book brings Joanne to an "about-f'ing-time" realization. I won't say more, but folks who have followed the series will understand and know it when they see it! Enjoy! I know you will less

I didn't love this one but both Jo and Morrison going furry was quite good! Good ending though!
