review 1: "It's not about who your parents are, or how much money you have. It's about what you do with who you are."Another 5 stars for Mr. Miles' book!! Again, a book that deeply touches & warms my heart in wonderful ways! My heart's always like riding a roller coaster reading Mr. Miles' books. I love all the parts of this book, from the sad parts to the funny parts and to the romantic ones. I couldn't hold my tears at the same time I laughed when Dylan proposed Alex a marriage with index cards! Hahahaa.. Loveee it, sooo loveee it!As my heart falls for Julia & Crank in "A Song For Julia", it does fall again for Alex & Dylan in this book. I sooo loveee the conversations between the two of them, loveee the ways they care & support each other, loveee that finally 'Love' found them a... more way to lead them back to each other. Thank you (again) Mr. Charles Sheehan-Miles for writing this another wonderful book!
review 2: This was a truly enjoyable read, I feel super satisfied right now... This the 2nd in this series that I have read so far, even with both books following a common theme, repressed daughters, rebellion, a strong military connection, unlikely love interest, rape or sexual assault (not by love interest) & unwavering sisterly bond... It was enjoyable & had me hooked....the mark of a good book, for me, is when I am reading rather then cooking supper... Or sleeping... Or cleaning (gah!) I cant wait to read the rest of this series. Which for me is odd, I generally stay away from a) military themed books - sometimes in these type books American propaganda can come across way too strong - in your face patriotism is a turn off & b) trilogies or series, they become so overdone & the characters tend to lose interest (my interest) by book 3, thus making me resentful of everything around me, the book, the characters, the author, the city they are dwelling , their stupid happy, lovey-dovey love making sessions ... You know, regular distain towards fictional characters ... But this series is completely different, as it is based on each sisters individual story, each book could be read as a stand alone, but, that said, as I was reading, I caught myself wondering about why each sister was the way they were & hoping to know more about them Generally, I just appreciated how complete I felt at the end of each book . All & all, Well done Charles, thank you less
