review 1: I gave The Fear by Charlie Higson 5 stars because it is really exciting, scary, and suspenseful. It is the third book in the Enemy series, so I would definitely recommend reading the first two books before you read The Fear. This book is pretty scary, in fact, it gave me a nightmare. However, it is really suspenseful, so you are going to want to finish the book. The whole series is all connected throughout about a 2 year span, and the first three are just slightly repetitive. They are still amazing books, though. If you like books like The Maze Runner or any Steven King books, then you should read The Enemy series.
review 2: "The Fear” is the third book in the series, yet it’s still technically a prequel to the first book “The Enemy.” The series could h... moreave been read 2,3,1,4,5, and still would have made just as much sense, if not more. This book is about a seemingly less important protagonist from book 2 that makes his attempt and journey to become somewhat of a hero. Plenty of action and scary scenes that keep you on your toes throughout the ENTIRE book as usual, and you gain and lose some characters just as well as a zombie thriller should. I have noticed that as you progress through the series, Higson seems to delve deeper and deeper into the gruesome details of dismemberment and injury of the characters and “grown-ups” in the book. Which I couldn’t complain about truly. I love the action, the gore, the emerging romance, and just being a part of the growth of all of these characters. 5 stars for Higson. less
