review 1: Discovered this author and this series a month ago on special by Amazon and give it a try! The comments were goods and I now understand after finished read the 3 books why! Sloane Monroe is quite a PI and with her boyfriend Giovanni it make the plots funnier. Really enjoy the 3 books and the plots and the characters keep delivers! It was fast pages turner books and I already purchased the fourth of the series. So if you haven't read any of this series please give it a try! Thanks to the author for sharing her talent with us.
review 2: Fun, fast-paced mystery/suspense novels featuring strong-willed female PI Sloane Monroe. The mysteries were fun and kept me guessing, except in the second book of the set, "Sinnerman." This book is different in that it has chapter
... mores from the killer's point of view, revealing his name (but little else at first) and what he's doing. These chapters didn't kill the suspense for me; knowing what Sinnerman was up to and what he was planning just made me more eager to see how Sloane was going to deal with it. And the process of Sloane putting togther who and what Sinnerman is interspersed with the chapters from Sinnerman's point of view built the story in a gripping manner. The first and third novels in the set are more conventional mysteries, except each one starts out with a chapter in the point of view of the victim right before they die, which is kind of a creepy and exciting way to start out a mystery. And there's a nice twist on who the killer really is in each one.The writing started out kind of shaky in the first book, but improved a great deal in the second and third books. The thing I had the most trouble with was Sloane's personality. She's very stubborn and refuses to listen to what other people are telling her, and ends up doing some kind of stupid and dangerous things. Being a strong, independent woman is one thing, being a strong, independent woman who deliberately ignores people who are concerned about her and does stupid, dangerous things just to show that no one can tell her what to do is an entirely different thing. By the end of the third book she did seem to be wising up a bit; I don't know if the muleheadedness is just the way she is, or if we're going to watch her go through more of a growing and learning process. I usually get very frustrated with this kind of character, that's the main reason why I won't finish a book, but the mysteries and the prospect of some character growth kept me going on these. Also, between the first and second book, Sloane's boyfriend Nick undergoes a personality change that would have had me seeking medical/psychiatric care for him. It's kind of jarring.Aside from those things, though, which might be just a matter of taste for me, these were fun, enjoyable books, and I'll definitely be looking for more of Sloane's adventures. less

Nice read. Easy, fast, not too "heavy". Great light reading with fun characters.

Great lightweight detective/mysteries. Good diversionary reading.
