review 1: Very Buarque and very good. Yes, at the times it is really in the key of the typical South American key of old man reminiscing of the things past "south of the equator where there is no sin". But as you go along the kernel of the story becomes more obvious, and more intimate and more intriguing, with subtly but significantly unreliable narration. I still find "Budapest" a better, more original work, but this is a real condensed gem.
