review 1: Loy Machedo’s Book Review - Trust Agents by Chris Brogan & Julien SmithThose involved into the Social Media & Internet Market Circles – either for Educational Purposes or for Business would know Chris Brogan. I came to know about him from Tony Robbins’s Money Masters and from that point on, it was all about googling and discovering more about him. Trust Agents is a book about being Internet Aware, Internet Savvy & Internet Smart especially given the unprecedented boom of Social Media and today its place in our lives. The basic premise of the book is all about being someone whom people can trust online and having high ‘internet’ reputation. According to Chris Brogan & Julian Smith, there are 6 Characteristics to become a Trust Agent. 1) Create your Own Game 2) Be... more one among the group or Fit in3) Archimedes Principle or Leverage Your Position4) Become Agent Zero or The Connector5) The Human Artist or the Do’s & Don’t’s6) Build an Army or Empower. The book is pretty straight-forward, content filled, practical and thought-provoking. And though there are many internet based terminologies like Gate Keeper, Agent Zero, Web Traffic etc the authors do a good job of making it very understandable. The only drawback I could think of is 1) Those who have no interest in the World Wide Web (which without a doubt is career & future suicide) may not find this book of much use. 2) Those who are heavy into the Internet or Social Media World may not find this book of much use to them as today these principles are become a mainstream norm. 3) You need to be involved to make this book engaging. That means you need to dedicate time and effort to make these principles happens. If you do not or are not planning to, then book serves you no purpose. Overall VerdictI found this book useful and it has many ‘aha’ points for me. It is a book that is useful for Entrepreneurs, Businessmen, PR people, Marketers, Social Media People and yes, those who are interested in harnessing the Power of the WWW. But in order to use the book to properly, you need to read, re-read and re-read again. And if the principles outlined in this book are followed and practiced, in time you will see yourself becoming a Trust Agent.Overall Rating7 out of 10.Loy Machedoloymachedo.com
review 2: "Trust Agents" is one of the seminal books in the Social Media genre. So many other authors have copied Chris Brogan's approach to discussing Social Media that he has been elevated to one of the chief "Gurus" along with a few others that include Interactive Media "thought-leaders" Brian Solis and Seth Godin. In this book, Brogan sets the ground rules for Social Media engagement. At the root of all relationships - on line and off - are trust, authenticity and respect for audience wants and wishes. The goal of all of this is to establish integrity and reputation. The author goes on to explain what the ground rules are for using Social Media; rules that lead to strong relationship building and marketing success. less

The beginning of the book didn't get me excited, but I'm liking it more as I read.
