review 1: WOW this novel was fabulous❤ it has absolutely everything and more a total edge of your seat stuff never ending twists and turns, intrigue, fast paced and non stop suspense. I have read all of the Robert Hunter novels to date by the incredibly brilliant and talented Chris Carter and obviously have thoroughly loved them all but "An Evil Mind" has topped it becoming my all time favourite book I've ever read and I've read some pretty good ones over the years.I really don't know how Chris Carter can top this amazing novel but he is full of surprises. A brilliant mind who is addicted to killing Lucian who also is a past friend of Robert Hunter's from their collage days together who is EVIL to the core. I can't wait for the next instalment of this thrilling series and to see R... moreobert's much loved and loyal partner Carlos Garcia to return as his partner❤❤❤
review 2: If this had been written by any other author I would give it 5 stars but because it's Chris it gets 4. I expect gory, gritty blow-my-mind crimes but this was more run of the mill psychological thriller. Good, even great by some authors standards but by Chris's, just good. The story is clever, has good twists and thrills, an interesting cop and an suitably evil killer, that cannot be taken away from the book but I was leave feeling something was missing. I have read rave reviews by other readers that were sycophantic with their praise, each to their own I guess. My lasting impression is "could do and has done better" less
