review 1: This is a sweet story, reminiscent of ARE YOU MY MOTHER? and IS YOUR MAMA A LLAMA? Little Owl gets separated from his Mama and a friendly squirrel and frog help him look for her. As he describes some of her individual features, the characters jump to the wrong conclusions about who is his Mama. The ending is sweet and funny. The simple illustrations are the perfect tone for the story, and I love how you can sense the animals hidden in the forrest. Very enjoyable, and I can see this as a great read-aloud.
review 2: Not only did we love this book, but I am thrilled to have found a new author to adore in Chris Haughton. LITTLE OWL is the story of an adorable little owl that falls out his tree and cannot find his mom. Fortunately, a friendly squirrel is nearby and
... more offers to help. What follows is a comical quest in which squirrel takes the tidbits that owl offers (my mom is big) and attempts to help find mom (bear?) to little owl and the audience's dismay. Not to worry, Little Owl eventually finds his mom and they celebrate with cookies. Simple text and illustrations that underscore the silliness and work perfectly with a younger audience. Throw some fun voices in for a great read aloud tale. less

Ohan se söpö. Pöllö meinaan. Myös silloin kun äiti on ihan hukassa.
