review 1: I really don't understand how anyone could give this book just one star. Not only is it a book about espionage and secrets, but beautifully descriptive of the European countries that the protagonist visits. If you quit after 100 pages, you miss so much of the intrigue and story development. I will admit that it is sometimes difficult to move from one time frame to another, but it is certainly worth reading. I really didn't know what an expat was until I read this book. Truthfully, I enjoyed it.
review 2: Interesting storyline and compelling lead character but just too confusing as the timelines and the narrative jumped around and I found myself getting quite lost and having to rethink timelines to regain context. Also perhaps some of it felt a little implausibl
... moree in terms of Kate being a CIA agent one minute then just retiring to be a mum. Feels like a good book that possibly needed more time and thought in the finishing and editing. less

Fast, fun. "Spy novel" but still manages to be relevant to mom's life for perspective.
