review 1: So heartfelt, I cried and laughed. It took me a bit of time to get hooked. However once hooked, I envisioned the Ireland country and the homes. The abuse Jamie suffered was so extremely tragic. Although fiction, the author researched that the neglect and abuse in these orphanages did happen. hard to stomach. Despite this tragedy, the story has comedy and romance that warms one's heart when complete. Relationship between friends evolve and shine. Highly recommend as mixed emotions ride one during the entire read.

I am sorry I didn't like this book. I found it soooooo long to get to the point and couldn't understand why they had to make him so special ed and ignorant. I could have done without trying to decipher what he was trying to say throughout the book. I would have liked to see him betrayed as a more "attractive" character (not necessarily the good looking kind). I did enjoy learning of his history but there were few good parts (mostly the end, thank god), but I really couldn't wait for the book to be over.
