review 1: This one is a little bit on the confusing side in places, although that is mostly due to the mind-set of the main character. The character himself is a little bit on the unsure side of things at many points in the story and this confusion is very efficiently passed onto the read leaving you unsure of what the truth of the book is.It is a very good book to leave you second guessing, constantly curious to the truth, taking you through the motions to figure out the truth. The characters themselves are interesting, grabbing your attention, with your knowledge of them growing at the right points in time instead of you knowing their full stories at the start. Whilst there is a lot I could say about this book most of it would give too much away: just know that the confusion in th... moree middle does fade away and it important to the book.
review 2: Don't know. I had to drag myself through the beginning, but in a way that I am not really sure how to explain, it become better.The story james Hastings is telling starts when his wife get skilled by an accident behind their house. He is grieving and can't seem to move on.Then one day he gets a new neighbour and goes from shock in meeting Annette, who makes him think too much about his wife Stacey, to finally being able to move on. Or that is what he thinks.Annette seems to be darker and stranger than it was meeting her. Strange things are happening and james doesn't know anymore what is real and what he is imagening.The she starts saying things only Stacey and himself know. Soon the posibility of a new life is crashed by one of terror for his life and his sanity. James doesn't know anymore who is who and what is happening.This story is weird. I wanted to give it 3 stars and maybe I will but it is between okay and liking it.I am not used to read this kind of story so maybe that makes me doubt too. Something of the story seems to be good, written well too but there is also weird, crazy and creepy stuff in there. less
