review 1: After reading mediocre reviews on this book I wondered what I had let myself in for. However I was pleasantly surprised by the first three quarters of the book. Ransom wrote rather well when covering his bereavement and his meeting and relationship with Annette. However towards the end it all got a bit surreal and I found myself feeling really confused but the twist and turn of events was different and thankfully the ending put things into perspective for me and it has to be said he ended the novel in the most chilling of ways.
review 2: ETA:This book is a mess. Don't read it unless you want to be like wtf at the end. I only gave it two stars because it was quite thrilling at times.I'm almost done this book and I must say it's not what I expected. When I read "
... morethriller", I prepare myself for a crime mystery thing and not a horror like supernatural book. (it probably helps to know that the German title doesn't have anything close to "haunting" in it.)I also think there are too many "elements" to it that make no sense. Some, I feel were only added for shock value.Gonna wait for the conclusion and then see about my rating. less
