review 1: The story itself is kinda predictable, right down to the HEA ending. But the characters were nothing short of amazing. Every single one of them is a fully-fleshed human being, with a soul and personality that seems to leap right off the page and into my living room. I kid you not, I got so sucked into their world that *six hours* passed unnoticed. Ciara Geraghty could do a master class on characterisation. I'll be looking for more of her books!
review 2: This really started out with some great potential but it just fell a bit flat at the end. When I first started this book, two seemingly unrelated characters were living their lives in two different countries with the promise that they would change each other's lives. As someone who doesn't really dabble in... more this chick-lit area, I was unexpectedly hooked and for the first half couldn't predict where the story was going. Even once we find out just how these two are connected I still had pretty high hopes for the ending. While I did like the end, I think it could have been more, had greater impact, had a bigger wow factor. But maybe that's just what you get from this genre. I adored the chapters from Milo's perspective, his 9-year old voice perfectly telling it's own story, and Kat's double life was quite fun to follow. Not mind-blowing but a simple and comforting read. less
