review 1: Shannon is a self made woman, still living with the stigma of being off in the head a little. She became pregnant while single and left her hometown to raise her daughter and put herself through school. Now she is a veterinarian with no money. She inherits a house and some land in her hometown. She comes home to take over the local vet business and to overcome her past. She and her daughter are starting fresh, until she sees something she cannot believe. She sees a little girl that looks just like her daughter. And the girl's father is someone who heart her deeply in the past by beginning the rumors that gave her a bad name in town. Shannon and Jack have to work together to figure out the girls story and how to build a life for them that's healthy and whole. They decide t... moreo marry. While this is going on, Shannon is also having to deal with something sinister. Her friend from the town she left has been kidnapped, and a large frightening man is attacking Shannon and threatening her. Shannon's unclear what's going on or what to do but she's struggling to trust Jack and leave her independence behind. This causes some problems, of course. The end wraps up so quickly that you can blink and miss what exactly happens. This is a good story though and I would recommend.
review 2: I thought this was a very good story of people who make the best of a very difficult situation. It is about loving someone (their children) more than themselves and being willing to sacrifice for them. It is also about choosing to love and make a happy place. Both parties chose to do so and that is why it worked. The mystery is there but does not take over the entire story.I recommend this CLEAN romance to almost anyone. less
