review 1: Not going to rate it as it is just a scene really explaining the animosity between the two families.I think this is more a little something to whet our appetite of smite, though there is not enough of him in the first book for me to feel one way or another. Like a lot other readers, I actually felt closer to richard, though he was an arse I can understand that he is just really a man that is pushed to desperation by things beyond his control. He really is also a victim of the prior generation.
review 2: A very short scene between Richard & Smite. It makes me hurt for Richard, not Smite. I'm not sure I like that after reading Unveiled. I'm still pissed at Richard right now & I am not quite ready to feel more for him than righteous indignation. Also, I have not f

Maybe later, once I've forgiven Richard & fallen in love with Smite, as I am sure I will do with the series progression, I will appreciate this short excerpt a bit more. :) less
