review 1: I simply could not put this book down once I started it and read it all in one day. I fell in love with the charachters and the message. This is a book about family--what it really takes to become one. It isn't as simple as sharing genes. It's about love, respect, and understanding. Jaden had to travel half a world away to find his true family...the one he had been living with for the past three years. Highly recommended.
review 2: Very engaging, realistic novel about a 12-year-old boy adopted at age 4 from Romania by U.S. parents. His internal emotional struggles to come to terms with his birth mother 'giving him away' and being loved by adoptive parents he thinks of as Penni and Steve, not Mom and Dad, felt very real to me. The book is intended for a you... morenger audience, probably late elementary to middle school, but I think adult readers will appreciate it, too. less
