review 1: Two 30-year old women find out that they were switched at birth. Their lives could not be more different, as Ellie lives in New York City, and Rachel is a widow with a young daughter. To make things more complicated, Rachel is Amish! This book focuses on the two women's search to find their place in the world. With two loving families, we watch them struggle as they find out what is really important to them. A great story!
review 2: Though sometimes the style felt a bit dry and more tell than show, it was a sweet book that delved into the feelings of two women switched as babies at birth and their thoughts as they confronted their own past lives and futures as well as each other's. I love books that explore cultural and religious prejudices and this explor... morees those feelings while placing us in Rachel and Ellie's shoes. The Amish world Rachel grew up in is beautifully detailed and wonderful to see. I enjoyed the characters. less
