review 1: The word "Christmas" shouldn't be in the title of this book. I started reading this book thinking I would be enjoying a nice Christmas novel during the month of December. However, the part involving Christmas is only about 3 pages of the entire book. Aside from that, it was a good enough book. A gentle, quiet read that had me intrigued with Amish life and had me wanting to get rid of my cell phone and television.
review 2: Rachel Yoder is a young Amish widow. Following the death of her husband three years before, she and her daughter, have moved back in with her parents, maintaining a simple life and close relations with her family. But all will change with a letter she receives.Ellie Lawrence has a hectic life in the world of public relations, living for her j
... moreob without much time for anything else. She, too, has a close relationship with her family. Just like Rachel, Ellie receives a copy of the same letter that will change her life also. Both Rachel and Ellie are now in the middle of finding out they have been sent home with the wrong parents when they were born. This changes the whole dynamic of their lives, leading them to search for answers and, hopefully, connect with the new families they have now. What a scary concept–being switched at birth, not knowing the what ifs. But this delicate subject is played out wonderfully and shows both the good and bad of the situation, including completely different backgrounds. A Plain & Fancy Christmas is a great read for anytime not just the Christmas season.Matilda Reviewer for Coffee Time Romance & Moresiteforumsauthorfreereadsbookreviewscalendarebookstorebloginterviews Awards | Author Services | Contact Information | New Author Information less
