review 1: While better than the first story I read by this author, there's a definite lack of any coherent characterizations, as well as really awkward pacing. The serial killer plotline gets resolved 2/3's of the way through the story, leaving the last third to meander in an anticlimactic mess.I did like the sibling relationship between Mitch and his sister, though. That was, by far, the strongest aspect of the book for me. review 2: Mitch is a US Marshal, paranormal contract bounty hunter. The army contracts him through the US Marshal service to kill out-of-control para's, such as the one Mitch just hooked up with, Jarrod Axelrod. Enter the rock band Heartstrings and the vampire, vampire-ish, werewolf band members.I did not figure out during this book if everyone knows... more about vampires or if it is just the bounty hunters and the like that are aware. I also did not figure out how wide spread and integrated the paranormal beings were in this world. Mitch and Jarrod hook up, much to the chagrin of one fellow band member and the game begins. Additionally Mitch's sister has a crush on the increasingly psycho band member yet Mitch continues to bring her around him, assuming she is safe, for no apparent reason, even though said psycho vampire has threatened her time and again. Mitch eventually finds himself on the wrong end of psycho's claws. He manages to survive thanks to some unexpected family members. Now Mitch and Jarrod must make some big eternal type decisions. This was not the most unique paranormal m/m romance of all time. I tried to edge it up to a 4 star review for the brother/sister relationship, some of the sex and one funny description of poser teenage girls dressed like goth vampires. However, I had to bring it down to 3 stars because a vampire story that has their vampires sleep in coffins for no discernable reason lacks too much imagination. less
