review 1: Great lap-sit picture book for the preschool through 2nd grade crowd that gives a peek at how imaginary friends find us and how we can build new friendships using the skills practiced with our imaginary buddies. Really. As an "only", I played with imaginary "Virginia and Jane" until they disappeared when I moved to a neighborhood full of new "real" pals. This beautifully illustrated and funny book should start some great bedtime conversations.
review 2: O-How I wish I could bottle some of Dan Santat’s creativity! His illustrations are always bright/dark, similar/yet totally different. His story lines are also completely original and fun for all ages. Traveling to the island of imaginary friends would be as fantastic as journeying to the Land of Oz. Santa’s ... morebooks are a MUST HAVE for any school or public library to encourage the love of reading. less
