review 1: I did not understand this book at all. I am new I this genre (dystopian) but I was still very confused, no? Some o it read very much like some fan fiction I have read, teenage supernatural creatures, acting like, we'll teenagers. It was very dull and concentrated very much on silly things that were never concluded. Ash was a very annoying character, impulsive and immature. I don't always think that is bad, because you do not have to like everyone, but I did not find the story telling (I want say narration, is that the right word?) strong enough to carry such a silly little boy.Not a good read for me
review 2: 4.5 StarsAnyone who was snared by the story, the world created and the characters in the first book of this series will be pleased by this new addition. T... moreold from Ash's POV, a whole different set of challenges for most of the characters I came to care about, as well as some new equally engaging characters, to deal with. I am relieved that I didn't find the ending as traumatic a cliffhanger like I feared and am patiently (debatable) waiting for the next one. less
