The Dagger and the Coin
review 1: First time liked Dawson's rigidity. Felt pity for Geder's situation. He is being forcibly made into a madman. Marcus's part was boring. Shocked in the first chapter to find out that Kit is the boy who escaped in first book's prologue. Good reveal by Daniel Abraham. Cithrin is becoming too pompous. That's why this book is good. There's no guarantee and stability for character traits. The character one liked in book one, you will hate in two
review 2: This book had many things to recommend itself. The depiction of the relation between nobles and commoners was the best I have ever seen it done. The characters feel like real people with both strengths and weaknesses(if they are over the top a little, it's fantasy. You expect that). Every page makes me want to read
... morethe next. So, you might ask why I only gave it 4 stars. The reason is that the book seems to end randomly and abruptly. I feel like the author hit his woe count limit and so decided to say 'the end' and move on. All in all though, it was a very impressive book. I look forward to reading book three. less
