review 1: This book was not my cup of tea. I couldn't identify with the characters (didn't care for any of them), it took me a while to get used to the jumping around and I can already see where it leads to more political intrigue, corruption, religion all topics that I stay away from while reading for fun. I will not pursue the story any further - I want magic, adventure, thrill... I have enough drama and politics at work.
review 2: This is a perfect book for winter. It's cold, the days are short, and cups of tea and necessary to keep from drying out.
