review 1: 3.5 stars This book made me not hate dragons. At least for the time being. There is only 1 chapter that has a talking dragon for which I am grateful. My only regret about this book is that the discovery of the spider goddess is short. The build up is good and the discovery is shocking but the whole episode is short. Did I mention that it was good to see more of Master Kit? And it felt good to see Cithrin cry.I hope that the talking dragon doesn't ruin the next books. God I hate dragons. fufufu eragon the movie.
review 2: The third book of a series, I felt it didn't live up to its predecessors. There was some good character development and we got to see what made some of the characters tick, but it didn't feel like the plot advanced very much. I liked the stor... morey arcs of the understudy banker and the increasingly genocidal dictator; the mercenary captain's quest for the magic sword seemed terribly generic fantasy though. less
