review 1: I love Gabrielle Allon! What's not to like about an art restorer who works on Caravaggios etc., but also helps rid the world of bad people? His ethics really stand out in this story, and I nearly cried as he stands over his friend as he heals. As always, I am on to the next one, only The English Girl, the next one, is the last one (so far...) hard to rush to it because then I'll have to wait until he WRITES the one after that. Thank you, Daniel Silva for writing books that make me want to look up the pieces of art being discussed or worked on, all while entertaining me with a murder mystery!
review 2: This book is about Gabriel Allon, who is an art restorer and also an Isaeli spy. He is sent to the Vatican to restore one of Caravaggio's famous panting. Wh
... morele he is doing this work, a women is found dead from a fall from the dome of the Vatican. He was asked to investigate and he finds that she was murdered. He also is told by his friend a monsignor Donati not to ask to many questions. the book is a very fast read. It also covers the Israeli and Palestiine question, of a separte state. this is the first book that I read from this author, but it will not be the last. It has a lot of good characters in it. The author gives us a history of the crisis in Israel and also about the PLO and the violence that takes place there. The book is a great read. I recommend it less
