review 1: I thought this book had some pretty good themes going - the reactions of people (family and friends) whom we think we know to extreme situations, discrimination, forgiveness, survival, to name a few. And the plot definitely had some interesting set ups/scenarios (like a dead girl's parents totally rejecting her when she came back to life, the emotional pain of a bully losing someone he loved, etc), but unfortunately, for me the character development just wasn't there. It was almost like the same kids just wearing different masks and clothes, for the most part. I'm not sure I'll read the next one...the ending was pretty predictable as well.
review 2: Generation Dead in a book about the relationship that certain people have for the dead. Phoebe is one of the p
... moreeople that didn't understand why the "living impaired" didn't stay dead. Then she met Tommy who is "living impaired" and she understood them more, the more she hung out with Tommy the more she wanted to help them in anyway she could. Then she fell for him, and nobody could believe that a living person could fall for someone who is dead, her best friend Adam who definitely didn't understand considering he was in love with Phoebe himself. Some people in the book don't want Tommy there, not on their basketball team and not in their school, they will do anything to kill the "living impaired" again. Once you read the book, you can honestly realize that the relationships the character have for one another is the big part in why all this happens. Hate,Love,Best friends. less
