review 1: This book held so much promise, but unfortunately the author had too many characters, not enough plot, and a very lack luster ending. Middle school students will probably enjoy the ghosts, the serial killer, and some of the romance. Personally, I was glad when it was over. Veronica is not a likable character and her actions don't make a lot if sense. We also never find out why all these ghosts started appearing after the "Event".
review 2: Veronica Calder can see ghosts; everyone can after the Event. She wonders why Mary Greer keeps showing up on her SS teacher's doorstep. And who is the guy she sees in her bathroom mirror? Kirk, a boy she decides to date, is working on the ghost project with English teacher Mr. Pescatelli. As Veronica and Kirk continue tap... moreing the ghostly appearances, clues begin to connect themselves and a horrible picture is revealed. Veronica is next in line as February 29 approaches. Can all the ghosts band together and save Veronica from a terrible death? This book was OK; I didn't like it as much as the "Generation Dead" series. It left unanswered a key question - what was the Event? I also didn't really like Veronica; she seemed to snap at Kirk too much. I don't know if there will be a sequel but I will probably pass it by. less
