review 1: Wow! Really, really great writing style and the author had me hooked from the first few pages. I was a little worried the book would be similar to that new movie I, Frankenstein, but definitely not. The characters were great and I loved how Larissa wasn't a super warrior and she let her insecurities be known about that up front to Tarek. Her internal dialogues to herself had me laughing out loud and felt so real I loved it. Not to mention we FINALLY have a woman who listened to her spidey senses and didn't just walk into annoyingly predictable traps. I hate it when I want to throw a book because the character is making stupidly predictable wrong choices! When Larissa did realize something was wrong, she used her brain to figure out possible solutions/esc... moreapes.
review 2: At last! A book that kept me awake at night and constantly thinking about the characters whenever I couldn't manage to be reading! Larissa was a strong heroine despite having no magical ability at all, I really liked her character and as for Tarek! Say no more he was all kinds of awesomeness. This book had it all, great writing, intriguing story, really great characters and that need to read more! On my way to buy more from this author. less
