review 1: All I could say about this book after I finished it was “Wow”. It took awhile for me to get into this book. I thought it was a bit fanciful being about a hit-man and written by an author who usually writes YA zombie books; but once I was hooked. I couldn’t put it down.Lady of the shades keeps you guessing. When you think you guessed right, it turns out to be wrong. The most frustrating things about this book is that you will be guessing to the very end, and then palm face yourself because it was all right there the whole time.This book is so finely crafted it is almost a work of art. When people ask me if I read any good books lately, this is one I remember because it blew me away.
review 2: Wow, wow, wow!!! Prepare to take your heart and mind, place it i... moren the washer and put in on extended spin cycle. There are twists and then there is this book! I've never read something with so many twists and turns that even up to the last few pages I was still scratching my head. Usually, an author will give you some breathing room toward the end, but not Darren Shan, this guy seems to get off on driving his readers mad at the end. I thought this book would be different. It's more complex than most of his works, but be prepared to get the ole knife in the gut and have it twisted again and again. If you've read Bec you'd know what I mean. That said, amazing book, amazing tale, and I highly recommend this book. less
