review 1: This story still haunts me. It is transforming in it's eery dystopian view of what a hyper-social media intensive world could turn into. Eggers follows one girl's struggle with her privacy that is slowly eroded by a Google/Apple/Facebook (fill in your own feared internet empire) behemoth. I think it's futuristic predictive powers are pretty interesting as well. Highly recommended. BTW, it has directly led to me either ignore my Facebook account or to toy with the idea of going off the grid entirely.
review 2: If I wasn't in high-tech and didn't have Microsoft experience this would probably get three instead of four stars. However, this frighteningly hits close to home. Somehow just writing this review and knowing it will automatically post an opinion on FB an
... mored Twitter seem counterintuitive having finished it only an hour ago. In summary, the premise is fascinating, like a modern-day 1984 though the writing leaves something to be desired. Also, it can't be denied Eggers succeeds in creating a page-turner near the end. less

I enjoyed reading this book even though it brought out a lot of frustrating/infuriating feelings.
