review 1: This book teaches individuals how to make spiritual patterns in their lives to obtain their own revelation and answers. David A. Bednar explains the importance of learning throughout your life and teaches how that will bless us for the rest of our lives. I enjoyed this book a lot, and benefited from it. I liked how Bednar included others writings/ talks to support the point he was making. He explains each point very well and clear. My favorite part of the book is when Bednar explains that knowledge and intelligence mean diligence and obedience. He explains further that knowledge is obtained through diligent study and intelligence is gained through faithful obedience. This is my favorite part because he was able to figure all this out from reading two verses of scripture. ... moreIt made me realize that I can look deeper into the text and receive revelation and answers to my questions. I loved this book and how each chapter was set up. He explained a significant point in each chapter and then had a section in each chapter titled supplemental reading. This part provided extra support for his points and different viewpoints. I did not like how I could not find connections to some of the supplementary articles.
review 2: Wow. Glad I read this, and glad I took my time with it. I have a notebook full of experiences and have learned a lot. I had seen a criticism that this book was too much "rehashed" material for its price, but I got it for a discount on my tablet and felt it was well worth it. Elder Bednar just has a way with explaining HOW to search, to get answers for myself. I've been tremendously blessed by this. less
