review 1: This book was pure fantasy but I still enjoyed reading it. I can't believe a powerful man like Webster could be so stupid. All the mayhem and killing because he thought someone might know about him. Webster would have been killed in his sleep a long time ago. Testler makes it clear he's just in it for the money. Darby is a quick learner. Clark was in the hills with the drug runners, got hurt, got well, stayed in town: was he a plant? Testler walked away like a good spy does.
review 2: Read this book on kindle and it was so good! Linda Darby lives a solitary life with one good friend, Cynthia, whom she meets for regular lunch dates. One evening, two men attempt to attack Linda and with the intervention of a third man, Ryan, she escapes. He tells her to tr
... moreust no one and gives her money and a gun as well as instructions on not trusting the law. Meanwhile, Cynthia, stands her up for lunch, which concerns her, enough so to check it out. She finds Cynthia at home, dead, and the plot just takes off from there. The man who had Cynthia killed, Webster, sends reinforcements to take Linda out after questioning her to find out what she knows about Cynthia's business. Interestingly enough, the man who saved her, works for Webster, too. Linda manages to take out another man sent by Webster and stops by another beach house, Clark's, who is the waiter at a restaurant Linda frequents and you can tell right off, there is more to him than meets the eye. Thrown in there is the Police Chief, Ben, who is also on Webster's payroll (I know, who isn't?) who is now finding dead bodies all over this quiet little beach town. Meanwhile, Linda finds a letter from Cynthia in her travel case which basically tells her about everything including if she is reading this, Cynthia is dead. She has enclosed money and a fake identity which instructions for a worldwind tour of various safe deposit boxes to find out additional information, money, jewels, a fake identities. Webster sends more folks after Linda but Ryan is close behind. Eventually they team up to attempt to bring everything out in the open. I'll leave it at that, but it was a good basic thriller with interesting interplay between the characters as Ryan teaches Linda how to stay alive! less

Potential to be a great read, but slow plot development
