review 1: Picked this up a year or two ago in an after-Christmas sale, and for the price I paid I'm really pleased with the results. This book is much grittier than your typical sweet Christmas read, but still offers a story of redemption in a broken world. There's an "alternate" story told of the magi's purpose in visiting the newborn King in Bethlehem, and while I don't agree with the ultimate conclusion (and I question the historical sources), it offered a good perspective and tie-in for the spy theme. At 228 pages, it's a relatively quick read, and worth adding to the seasonal collection for visiting guests.
review 2: The author packs a lot of action into a short book. His writing is concise, yet full of detail and drama. He builds the story well and weaves in religi
... moreous history to this spy vs. spy tale. I didn't realize that David Morrell is considered the father of the modern action novel stemming from his best-selling novel First Blood. I'd recommend to anyone who's looking for a quick-paced, short action novel. less

A very unusual Christmas Story and a good one. Good spy novel to read around the Christmas season.
