review 1: David Morrell's thrillers have been winning over fans since 1972 when FIRST BLOOD, his first Rambo novel, was released. Only a storyteller as accomplished as Morrell could blend past with present to create a bone-chilling yet heart-warming story like the one presented here. Well worth reading.
review 2: I have heard Santa Fe resident Morrell speak a few times, and have enjoyed hearing about his work, as well as reading his books. Morrell is the author of the 1972 novel First Blood, made into the 1982 movie starring Sylvester Stallone as John Rambo.This entertaining tale opens on Santa Fe's Canyon Road, just a block from a former residence of mine.It's Christmas, and a man with a baby is seeking refuge--not from Herod, but the Russian mafia!I really enjoyed this spy/chase thriller, especially because of the local color of Santa Fe and northern New Mexico! less
