review 1: I love this series. I love the characters and the sense of humor. The plot is there merely to showcase the characters, which is quite fine with me. They are just so much fun. And seriously folks, who would win in a fight, Marcus or Ranger? One of my favorite things is that Andy is lazy and a avowed coward, and perfectly happy to let his wife protect him. Whereas he's relieved to have Marcus rescue him, but is too afraid of him to be happy about it. And bless the author's heart for telling us up front that no matter what happens to any of the other characters, no matter how old or decrepit they become, Tara will live forever. Amen to that!
review 2: David Rosenfelt's crime stories are humorous, light reading. (The first I read was "Unleashed".) There is t... morehe warmth of the underlying dog theme, although these are not truly dog stories. The lawyer/investigator is Andy Carpenter, fond of dogs and always ready with a humorous quip. The stories are more clever than deep and move along well. These are good "go-to" tales between heavier reading if you just need to lighten up and have some fun. less
