review 1: I gave this 4 stars, but that is on a scale as compares to other novellas. They don't really compare against normal novels. For a novella, this was quite good. It helped develop the characters of both "A Spear of Summer Grass" and "City of Jasmine." It also gave some important and interesting back story. Since it was so short it wasn't able to develop into much of a plot, but what was there was enjoyable and fun to read.
