Hunters of the Mortals is the second book in the Waters Dark and Deep series by Monica Leonelle. This book starts off not to long after Instruments of the Angels with Brie trying to balance her supernatural life and her human one. Brie is such a sweet and loveable character and she tries so hard but the people in her life are her life and things are starting to go wrong. The rift between Pilot and Brie has gotten bigger while her estrange father is finally coming home and the mother she thought she knew is hiding even more secrets that shocks Brie to the core. Not to mention things are still strained between Serena and Thessa, and her and Clara and now Rykken is more involved in her life. Brie is under a huge about of pressure but she doesn’t fold under it. The story is told from a lot of different perspectives but it never gets tangle Monica manged to tell the story cohesively and I love that I get to her from so many characters. With other worlds, supernatural powers, the threat of war and mysteries Brie has her hands full and I am looking forward to she how she handles it in the next book.
