review 1: I enjoy Debbie Macomber's work. This particular volume reinvents two traditional fairy tales: Cinderella and Beauty and the Beast. Both have slightly simplistic approaches to the problems each protagonist faces. There were times, especially in "Some Kind of Wonderful" that I wondered if the plot could actually happen. Yet, those are attributes of fairy tales. There are real problems and people behaving badly, but in the end truth and good win.
review 2: Normally, when older stories are republished, you can really tell by the style it was written in. Not in this case, though. I am not sure whether Debbie Macomber revised and updated the tales before republishing or not, in any event, the heroines do feel as if they are twenty-first century women. The titl
... moree 'Fairy Tale' is meant literally, too. Essentially, the author adapted Cinderella and Beauty and the Beast to modern day life and did a wonderful job of it. Neither story feels contrived and they are both very believable ... making you wonder whether such events could really happen in real life. I, for one, have heard more 'out there' stories that happened, so why not? We all could do with some fairy tale romance in our lives and live happily ever after. Stranger things have happened ...Leave it to Debbie Macomber to find a way to adapt fairytales to modern life and succeed marvellously. As always, her writing style is easy and straight-forward, and her storyline involving and interesting. After all, most people know those fairytales from childhood and are most likely intrigued as to just how things will work out. less

Fairy Tale Weddings is the fluffy anthology of modern take on Cinderella & Beauty and the Beast.Cindy & Prince This is a modern take on Cinderella Is about Cindy & Thorne PrinceA cute fluffy take on cinderella, but since I am not such a huge fan of the story it was just an enjoyable read from me from start to end. Some Kind of Wonderfula modern take on Beauty and the Beast Judy Lovin & John McFarland. In order to save her family from losing her family's wealth she must go to St. Steven's island and live with the 'beast' until he thinks it time to let her go back home. this story is so cute that it simply pulls at your heart strings.I just wish it had a couple more chapters in this story I would love to know who won the wager between Judy and her sister-in-law Marie. Another great light ready from the lovely Debbie Macomber

I enjoyed both of these stories. The first was a modern take on Cinderella. I thought it was an interesting take. I never imagined Prince Charming would be so grumpy. Nevertheless, I enjoyed the story. The second story was a modern take of Beauty and the Beast. I was curious how the author was going to create a beast and was glad for the absence of magic and that the beast wasn't physically a beast, but just cruel and heartless man. A beast in every sense of the word, except in appearance. Not that I'm against magic, I just didn't see how it would work in a modern setting. Another good story by Debbie Macomber.
