review 1: Blue Chicken is the story of a chicken that gets all messy with a painting. The curiosity of the chicken makes him make a mess and there is blue paint allover the place. The poor little chicken just seems to want to help, but it all gets of his hands and then he is the one that turns out to be asking for help, when he realizes that he messed up all the place with blue paint. This is a very simple book with a very open ending, that makes children intrigued with what happens next, and also this makes them want to become artistic make their own personal work of art. It was not one of my favorite books, but it is very well illustrated and this is a children's choice award, so I believe that it may really catch the attention of young children.
review 2: The painting
... more is almost done. Chicken wants to help paint the barn. Instead of helping to paint the barn, though, Chicken accidentally spills the blue paint. Everywhere. Even over the other chickens, the duckling, the cow, the barn; the whole picture. All of the animals are mad at her. Maybe, just maybe if she cleans it up they will forgiver her?A wonderful stories of accidents and taking responsibility for your actions. less

Playful and fun! The animals' expressions add to the text in telling the story.
