review 1: Overall, it was a pretty good series. Ms Lunetta is a wonderful author and I can wait to see what else she writes. It had been about a year since I had read "In the After" but Lunetta reminds us of enough of the details in her sequel that it's not hard to remember who's who and the relationships between the different characters. I instantly liked Jacks and was glad that story-line developed, although I would have liked there to be a little more. His reluctance to leave Fort Black and go with Amy didn't really make a lot of sense other than keeping him out of the "battle" at the end (where he would have been just a nuisance). I liked how we got to see a nice ending too, but some of it felt a little rushed to me. Overall, I really enjoyed the book and the series. It was a qu... moreick and fun read!
review 2: This was another great book and totally not a rehash of the first book. Lots of action, lots of intrigue. I'm not sure if I really cared for the love triangle aspect or if Amy made the right choice. Both young men seemed a little morally, mentally, and emotionally weak compared to Amy. This was well written and fast paced; interesting characters, setting and plot. I look forward to reading more from Lunetta. less
