review 1: I feel tricked. I was immediately drawn in and was excited to read on, but I feel it loses its way and ends with a whimper. While there are some very vibrant characters in this book with very fleshed-out backstories, I feel as if the villain didn't feel credible at all and I just didn't 'get' his motives. There's some weird word choices and dodgy descriptions, such as a sandwich being described as 'molested'. The ending was such a let down for me, as it felt unfinished and too vague and open.
review 2: Really enjoyed this book. Of course I HAD to read it, being Norwegian and since my dad fought in the Korean war, semper fi. It was so good, but I wished it was more. I want to know more about the contents of the pink box, who collected the items in it and why?... more What happened to Rhea and Lars and the boy? Loved the female police detective. How did her life turn out? Will there be a sequel? There should be, or the author should have done a better job tying up all these loose ends. less
