review 1: I'm about to begin For The Darkness Shows The Stars and I remembered I had a prequel on my kindle so I read this first. At the beginning it's confusing because I knew nothing of the series but several chapters into it you get an idea of the world Kai lives in and the struggles that lie ahead for him. I hope this gives me some good ground work so when I start FDSTS I can be engaged with the story from the beginning.
review 2: I loved For Darkness Shows the Stars, and the last month every time I have walked by my book case and glanced it sitting there I have felt an overwhelming desire to reread it, with the only thing stopping me being the stack of unread books sitting on my counter. It explained so much about Kai and what he went through before showing back up in Elliot's life, and it give you a better understanding of the other characters who show up with him. A very strong must read for anyone who loved the original. Maybe with my new found insight, I have the excuses I have been looking for to go back and reread For Darkness Shows the Stars :) less
