review 1: Somewhat mixed feelings, because I love the characterization and the developing storyline, this particular volume has less of a payoff; the reveal is a little abrupt and just as quickly resolved. *If* there's a payoff for the by-now TWO characters taken to the demonic realm, it's all to the good but otherwise this book's crime plot is disappointing. Having said that, I'm still completely sold on the series and picked up the next one, Sins of the Demon, the next day.
review 2: Yay, I am so glad this series continues to be good. It was good all way through and then at the end, it was not a cliffie. BUT, she made me go all NEED book 4! I do have book 4, so that is a relief, I am just afraid book 4 will make me feel the same way and then I do not have book 5, lol.... moreKara is cool. She is good at her job, she is witty, she has mindblowing sex with a demon lord. Awww yes he is, yum. But I do wonder what he has planned. Then there is Jill (cool too), Zach (we get to know stuff about him, yay), and of course Ryan. Ryan Ryan, what is he hiding? I get closer to those secrets and then the book ends and I need to know. I am way too curious. Ryan has also truly grown on me.In this book she has to solve why a few musicians are being targeted. And it's never simple when it comes to her cases. And then something else starts happening too, intriguing.Like I said, I need book 4 now!Recommended series. less

This is one of those series that I've enjoyed but for various reasons, just kept being pushed aside for sexier reads. So glad I finally got back to it. I really enjoy Kara. She's a nice mixture of funny, tough with a touch of self-deprecating humor. A typical mix for Diana Rowland.So glad we finally got some answers as to who and what some of her sidekicks are. Ryan is still a mystery and I hope that these two make some romantic headway eventually. So many layers that are still left to be uncovered. Mainly the question of what Rhyz wants with Kara.Looking forward to catching up!

This was much better than the first two. It was a fast and easy read but it's still missing a little that's keeping it from being great. Some of the stuff about Ryan is answered but it also opened up more questions! I'm very curious for the next book now. The mystery part kept me guessing till the end and I sure wasn't expecting for it to go down like it did. I'm glad Kara is opening up to her friends as well and not being as much of a loner as in the previous two!
