review 1: This was an amazing book, and a pretty interesting series. Dianne Sylvan writes this book from multiple perspectives, and the transitions from perspectives can be confusing at first but you get use to it eventually. Dianne Sylvan did excellent work with character development, especially with Miranda, the protagonist. It is a complete 180 degree turn around. There is action, suspense, one sex scene or two and quite a star-crossed lovers theme to the book. Dianne accomplished the star-crossed lovers thing without making it seem cheesy. While I like romance, sometimes authors pretty it too much and make it sound like Twilight (yuck!), but not Dianne. Without trying to spoil the story it is an amazing tale of a weak-willed woman on the verge of insanity who suddenly found the ... morestrength and will to live and by doing so, got forced/pulled into a world she didn't know existed, but one with which she has an important destiny in. If you are into stories of strength and the whole "star-crossed" lovers theme, then this book is for you.
review 2: J'ai été très touchée par ce roman. La voix de l’héroïne est magnifique et l'auteure parvient, en très peu de mots, à évoquer des images incroyablement fortes. (J'en ai pleuré dans le métro, c'est pour dire.)Malheureusement, pour moi l'histoire prend un tournant que je n'ai pas vraiment apprécié et qui, combiné à une petite série d'incohérences diverses, m'a fait lâcher la série après le tome 2. J'en garde du coup un souvenir doux-amer. Ça partait vraiment très bien et ça s'est vautré rapidement. Cela dit, je recommande quand même la lecture de ce premier tome qui vaut vraiment le détour pour la force des émotions qu'il procure. less
