review 1: I kept skipping over the first book in this series. I was all vampired out and just didn't want to read another vampire story. But one day, nothing else was available, so I picked up the first book. Loved it! Quickly went on to read the second and third and loved them also. So, then I had to wait ... and wait ... and wait for the fourth book. Yay! It finally came out and I jumped right on it. I'm not sure if the wait disenchanted me with the series, or if this fourth book just isn't as good as the first three, but I found it just ok.
review 2: I don't five star a book easily.Every book in this series just gets better and better. Fans of writing that is uniquely smooth and detailed will get their fill with this series. Can I say how much I love Deven and... more Jonathan? I love them. Can't wait for more of them. (I do get the idea of large details taken from other popular authors works, but it's not too much of a distraction that it took me out of the story. Normally I would put a book down when I sensed this, but it stands alone enough to slide... This is a shame, as it's a damn fine story and doesn't require such.) less
