review 1: Orpheus and Eurydice set in '60s Milan. I've read Tartar Steppe, but I never knew that Buzzati was also an artist. Poem Strip is a graphic novel, which Buzzati wrote and illustrated in the late '60s. this English version just came along a few years ago. Maybe it was deemed uncommercial or maybe American publishers were afraid of the frank sensuality of many of the images as Orfi negotiates his way through the underworld seeking his dead wife.

... morerratives on life after death. Some of the pages of this book are just so beautiful I immediatly wanted posters of a few of them, (pictured above). All in all if you enjoy surrealist artwork/fiction and poetry I would give this book a go. Fair warning there are quite a few drawings of naked women, so maybe not one to read on the bus! less
