review 1: I'll have to admit, i'm not a person who reads a lot of books based on history. Even though i do not, i found this book pretty interesting. I really loved Sarah. She was a wonderful character and added a certain charm to the story line. I actually found this book pretty interesting. It was quite the read, although it is not the best compared to other books i've read. It is still a wonderful book. I recommend that anyone with a slight interest in history read this book. I've recommended it to my friend and she's in the middle of reading it also. It's really an interesting read.
review 2: This was a great book. This First Reads win was well worth it. Sarah is such a believable character that I could relate to. Struggling with anxiety, Sarah embarks upon a mission... more that will ultimately define who she is. The story is great. Time was the only issue preventing me from reading this book faster than I did. The plot is plausible, although, as do the characters in the story, the reader may become a bit leary as to the theory behind Lincoln's death and the verity of a diary written by one of America's most prolific presidents...but this adds to the suspense.I hope D.L. Fowler intends to make Sarah a heroine in another mystery/thriller. I would love to read more books with her as the main character. It would be great to see her in a setting that portrays her in her career as an interrogator. I look forward to reading more books by this Goodreads author. less
